What do you know about the Verse of the Throne?

Have you ever heard about Verse of the Throne?

This verse of the Throne is Ayat al Kursi. This great verse is located in Surah al Baqarah in which Allah Almighty says:

ُاللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

 

What is the meaning of Ayat al Kursi?

This Ayah means that Allah is the only God, no one other than him, he is living all the time, no slumber can seize him, nor sleep, he has all in heaven and on the Earth. No one can intercede in the presence of Allah without his permission. Allah knows what is behind and what is in front of us, and his Throne extends from Heaven to the Earth. Allah doesn’t feel fatigue due to guarding and preserving his throne, and nothing can harm him. Allah is the most high and he speaks the truth only. This is a simple explanation of the Verse of the Throne.

Ayatul Kursi benefits:

As we said before, this is the verse 255 of Surah al Baqarah. One day a man came to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and asked him “what is the most excellent verse of the Quran?” He answered the man “ayatul Kursi”. This shows the importance and the greatness of this verse. Ayatul Kursi is the Aya’s leader of the Holy Quran. One of the benefits of reciting the verse of the Throne will be clear when we know that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “ Whoever recites the first 4 verses of Surah-e-Baqarah, then Ayatul Kursi and then the last 3 verses of Surah-al-Baqarah will not be harmed with any kind of difficulty in his wealth or himself, Shaitan will not come near him and also he will not forget the Quran.”. Other benefits are: ● One who recites Ayatul Kursi in the morning will be protected from harm till the night. ● When one recites this great verse once if he want to go out, Allah will send with him one group of angels to protect him, when he recites it twice Allah will send him 2 groups of angels to protect him, and when he recites it more than twice Allah ask his angels no to worry as he himself will take care of him. ● Frequent recitation of ayatul Kursi makes death more and more easy. ● Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also said in Hadith: “If one recites Ayatul Kursi before going to sleep, Allah will send an Angel to come and look after you and protect.” These are some but not all the benefits of the verse of the Throne. We have to give this verse its position and recite it whenever it is possible.
