Surah Kahf and its benefits
If we want to know the right life for all Muslims, we have to know everything about Surah Kahf.
It was revealed on our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in
Mecca.
Surah Kahf is a great Surah and has its great importance.
What is the Benefit of reading Surah Kahf on Friday?
As many Surahs of the Holy Quran, each letter has a great reward from Allah and multiplied by ten, as said by ِAllah in Surah Al An’am:
مَن جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا ۖ وَمَن جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَىٰ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ
لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
● From the benefits of reciting Surah Kahf is that it is the cause of happiness, comfort, and tranquility.
● Reciting Surah Kahf also protects us from any evil, and reminds us of the day of resurrection.
● There are many Hadith that can describe the
importance of this great Surah.
The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also said:
(( عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهم عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ حَفِظَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْف عُصِمَ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ ))
The translation of this Hadith is:
Whoever memorizes the first 10 verses of Surah Kahf, Allah will protect him from the temptation of Antichrist.
● He also said:
من قرأ سورة الكهف ليلة الجمعة أضاء له من النور فيما بينه وبين البيت العتيق
This Hadith means that whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, there will be a light that shines between him and albait al Atiq
the Meaning in English:
“Kahf” is an Arabic word that means “Cave” in English.
this surah was named with this name referring to the
owners of the cave who didn’t give up their Faith fled to Allah, and took refuge in Him.
Allah Almighty never let His servants alone, and He
always helps them.
Surah Kahf on Friday:
It is preferred for us to recite this great Surah every Friday as said by most Jurists.
It is also important to say that to get its reward from Allah, you have to recite the entire Surah Kahf, not part of it. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
من قرأ سورة ِ الكهف في یوم الجمعه اضاء له من النور مابين الجمعتين
This great Hadith describes the importance of reciting
Surah Kahf.
The translation of this Hadith is:
Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, he will feel the light till the next Friday.
Who has to recite it?
If you are a Muslim, you have to recite it as much as
possible. Men or women, travelers, or residents all have to recite it to get Allah’s satisfaction and win His reward.
We can’t ignore God bless when He promised His
servants to give them the reward if they can’t do what they have used to do.
This means that if you are used to recite Surah Kahf, and couldn’t read it due to your illness, Allah will give you the full reward. What a great Surah?!
When should we recite it?
Reciting the Holy Quran is not limited to specific times, you can recite It at any time.
There is a very important condition that must be present if you would like to recite the Holy Quran, you have to choose the time of Khushoo’.
As we said before, It is preferred to recite it on Friday.
So, the best time is from the sunset of Thursday to the sunset on Friday.
The purposes and the goals of this Surah:
● God unification.
● Faith in the last day (day of Judgement).
● The Holy Quran is the right book, and the only
guidance book.
● Warning against accursed Satan, and knowing that Satan is our enemy.
● Explain the punishment of the unbelievers who took Gods other than Allah.
