Surah Quraish is one of the blessings for Quraish

َّبِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ (1) إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ (2) فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ (3) الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ Introduction: Surah Quraish was revealed on our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Mecca befor Hijrah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It consists of 4 verses talking about Quraish (the only Surah in the Holy Quran that talks about Quraish). The Holy Quran contains 114 Surah, and Surah Quraish is the 106th one of them.

What is the cause of naming this Surah with “Surah Quraish”?

It is the only Surah in the Holy Quran that talks about the Quraish tribe. Surah Quraish is the other name for this Surah, as it is also named Iilaf Quraish. “Ilafi Quraish” is an Arabic word which means the blessings that Allah has blessed to the Quraish tribe. Surah Quraish transliteration: 1. Lilaf Quraish. 2. Il Fehem rihlat shitaa’y wasaif. 3. Falya’bodo raba hadhal bait. 4. Alladhy atamahom men goo’en wa amanahom men khawf.

Surah Quraish translation_Sahih international:

1. For the usual security of the Quraish tribe. 2. They used to make caravans, in winter and summer. 3. They have to worship the Lord of this house. 4. The Lord who has fed them, protected them from hunger, and from fear. Simple explanation of Surah Quraish: This Surah is highly related to Surah Al Fil, as the Elephant owners _who wanted to knock down the Kaaba_ are linked to this Surah. Muhammad ibn Ishaq, and Abdullah Ibn Zayd Ibn Aslam said, Surah Quraish is related to Surah Al Fil, and there was “Bimellahi ar Rahmani Ar Raheem” between them. The Quraish tribe used to make 2 caravans, (one caravan was in winter to Yemen, and the other one was in summer to Sham) in order to trade and gain regularly. After making these 2 caravans they return to their tribe safely, and all people respected them, this is one of the blessings that Allah has blessed them with. For this blessing, they have to worship Allah, thank Him for His blessings, and not to take a God but Allah. Allah also protected them against hunger, and fear, so they have to admit, and thank to Allah. Good life, and sustenance are the most important good blessings from Allah in this life, so He has to be thanked for this. The Messenger of Allah Muhammad (SAW) said this

Hadith confirming the blessings of Quraish:

ً إن االله فضل قریشا بسبع خصال لم یعطها أحد ً ا قبلهم ولا یعطیها أحدا بعدهم وهي:” أن الخلافة فیهم، و إن الحجابة فیهم، وإن السقایة فیهم، وإن النبوة فیهم، ونصروا على الفیل، وعبدوا االله سبع سنین لم یعبده أحد غیرهم، ونزلت فیهم سورة لم یذكر “فیها أحد غیرهم: “لإیلاف قریش This Holy Hadith illustrates 7 blessings for Quraish that haven’t given to any other, and these blessings are: They have succession, hjaba, they used to water Pilgrims, they have Prophecy, Allah blessed them on the Elephant, the only who worshipped Allah for 7 years, and Allah has dedicated them with a specific Surah which is “Surah Quraish”. see More : Surah Al Asr
