Surah Al Masad

 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ (1) مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ (2) سَيَصْلَى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ (3) وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ (4) فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ (5)

Introduction:

The word Masad means fiber which is the palm fiber. This Surah talks about Abu Lahab that is the uncle of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who was an enemy of Islam and his nephew. This Surah is named from its last verse. Surah Al Masad consists of 5 short verses. Transliteration Surah Al Masad: 1. Tabat yada abi Lahabin watab. 2. Ma aghna anhu maluhu wama kasab. 3. Sayasla naran dhata lahab. 4. Wamra’tuhu hamalata al hatab. 5. Fe gedehah hablun men Masad. Translation _ Sahih international: 1. May Abu Lahab lose and be miserable. 2. His wealth has no benefit for him. 3. He will go to hell and fire. 4. And his wife carries firewood. 5. Around her neck there is a rope of palm fiber. Name of Surah Al Masad: As mentioned above, the name of this Surah came from the last verse “Masad”.   Related Ahadith for Surah Al Masad: His wife: One day our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) felt sick and couldn’t pray Tahajjud for 2 or 3 nights, then a woman came and said to him “O Muhammad i think that your Satan has overcomed you.” For that occasion Allah revealed this verse: “By the fore_noon and by the night when it darkens All has nighter forsaken you, nore hated you.”

Simple explanation of Surah Al Masad:

This Surah talks about Islam and its enemies as Abo Lahab. And His wealth will never benefit him. Also talks about the punishment of these enemies on the day of Judgement by Allah. 1.May Abu Lahab lose and be miserable. He is one of the enemies of Islam, and he was the cause of harm to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) 2. His wealth has no benefit for him. Our Prophet asked the people to Join Islam, Abo Lahab refused, said to his nephew that he will never enter Islam, and his wealth and money will safe him from the punishment of the hereafter. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse “ma aghna anhu maluhu wama kasab.” Which means that nothing will benefit him. 3. He will go to hell and fire. Due to his Enmity, denial of Islam and harming his Messenger Muhammad (SAW), Allah will punish him with fire with burning flames. 4. And his wife carries firewood. Who also refused Islam and harmed the Messenger of Allah. 5. Around her neck, there is a rope of palm fiber. Abo Lahab’s wife will wear a rope of fire wood which she will carry to throw it on her husband to fire him as a punishment from Allah. See More :Surah Al Qariah
