Hadith on forgiveness
Forgiveness is a critical aspect of Islam as we are Human, not angels, so we all make mistakes. The Quran has many verses that talks about forgiveness, also Hadith talks about it, and we will know Hadith on Forgiveness. In Hadith on Forgiveness we will learn more about forgiveness in Islam, and its great reward. Before learning Hadith on forgiveness we have to know more about forgiveness itself. The types of Forgiveness in Islam:
Forgiveness in Islam is divided into 2 divisions that are: 1. Forgiveness from Allah to His servants. As humans, we make mistakes, and do sins, for this reason we need Allah’s forgiveness. 2. People forgive each other: In our relations to each other, we need forgiveness so that we can complete our life in peace. Both types of forgiveness are of great importance and all of us should seek both of them We can realize the greatness of forgiveness when we recite this Verse:“God loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and He loves those who keep themselves pure.”
Forgiveness in the Holy Quran:
Before learning Hadith on forgiveness one should know the Quran’s view of tolerance. “Forgiveness” was mentioned in the Holy Quran 100 times or more. There is an entire Surah in this great book that was named (Ar_Rahman).Allah Almighty said in His great book:
The translation of this Verse is:
“. . . And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” There are many Verses that talk about forgiveness. Now it is time to talk about Hadith on forgiveness in Islam, and we will discuss one of them.Hadith on Forgiveness:
Abo Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with Him) reported that the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.”Simple explanation of this great Hadith:
This is an example of Hadith on forgiveness, that contains many meanings and values. The great Prophet (SAW) shows to His nation that Allah blesses the servant who gives charity. In the past, when the Messenger’s Companions saw the poor, they used to say “Welcome to someone who transfers our money from this World to the Hereafter.” This shows the great reward of giving charity for the sake of pleasing Allah. “no one forgives except that Allah increases his honor” This great phrase of this Hadith on forgiveness is the focus of our topic today. Some people think that an apology is a sign of their weakness, and tolerance and serenity make their enemies violate their rights. This is a wrong and frustrating view; as a tolerant person is a strong and generous one. If a person wants to take revenge on everyone who has offended him, he will not have a great position, as if he pardoned and forgave them. So, we have to forgive in order for the ship of our life to travel safely without hindrance. For that reason, Allah Almighty said to His beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Surah Al-Imran:وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ
This verse -the same as the previous Hadith on forgiveness- calls us to tolerance, and the love for others. “and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.” The last part of the Hadith shows the importance of Humility, and lack of arrogance. So, this Hadith on forgiveness draws some good qualities that every Muslim must-have. We hope that Allah will grant us tolerance, and make our hearts pure See More: Hadith about Death
