Jummah Hadith

Jummah Hadith is the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that describe Friday, and the importance of Friday prayer for Muslims. We are here to talk about Jummah Hadith, and realize its great importance. To learn Jummah Hadith we have to know the meaning of Jummah in Islam.

What is the meaning of Jummah?

“Jummah” is an Arabic word that means “gather something”. And it is one of the seven days that is characterized by a special prayer called Friday prayer.

What should a Muslim do on Friday?

It is desirable to do some manners on this day, and we will mention most of these manners: 1. One has to be clean, and cut his nails. 2. Cleanliness and washing well, as said by the beloved Prophet (SAW):

Which means that every Muslim has to wash well on Friday, race to the Mosque on foot, approach to the Imam, and listen to the Friday Sermon, Allah will reward him every step to the Mosque as a year including fasting and prayer. Such a great reward must not be wasted. 3. Using toothpicks to brush teeth. The four Jurists agreed on using Siwak on Friday   4. Using perfumes as the Messenger (SAW) used to doon friday, as it is one of the best works of the Prophet (SAW). It is preferred to apply perfumes on the beard and hair. 5. In order to imitate the Messenger (SAW) we must wear the most beautiful and clean clothes. 6. Going early to the Mosque to listen to the Sermon, as said by Muhammad (SAW):

This Jummah Hadith means that:

On Friday the Angels of Allah sit at the gates of the Mosque to write who comes first and who comes next, and when the Imam sits down, they fold the books and sit down to listen to the Dhikr. 7. Much of the prayers on the beloved Messenger Muhammad (SAW). 8. Reciting Surah Kahf,

The meaning of the Hadith is:

Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, Allah will make for him a light from under his foot to heaven, and He will forgive him, for a whole week from this Friday to the next Friday. Now it is time to talk about Jummah Hadith,

Jummah Hadith:

The translation of the Hadith is:
The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house then proceeds (for the Jummua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then pray as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven.”

Simple explanation of the Hadith:

This is an example of Jummah Hadith that teaches us the virtue of applying perfume and washing on Friday, and silence when Imam speaks. If we do what the Prophet has advised us, Allah will forgive us this week.   See More: Hadith about friendship
