What is Laylat al Qadr?
This is one of the nights that is investigated in odd nightsof the last third of Ramadan.Laylat al Qadr marks the night which the Quran was firstrevealed on our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).All words can’t describe the importance of this night, butwe will try to give it it’s right.Owing to the greatness of Laylat al Qadr, Allah has namedone of the 114 Surah with “Al Qadr”, and it indicates thegreatness of this night.Allah said in this Surah:ِ{إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ . وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ . لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ . تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ . سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ}Allah Almighty says in this Surah, he has revealed theQuran in laylat al Qadr which is better than one thousandMonths.He also says that the angels of him descend to the earthon the same night every year.
What are the desirable deeds in Laylat al Qadr?
This Golden chance will not be repeated again in thesame year, so every Muslim has to take this goldenopportunity to get more and more rewards.
Some of these good deeds that is desirable in Ramadan are:
1.Reciting the Quran:Quran recitation is not limited to specific times but thereare times when good deeds should be done more thanother times.Reciting one verse in Laylat al Qadr equals its recitationfor a thousand Months and better.And as we know, Allah rewards for reciting the Quran bymultiplying each letter by ten, as he says “Don’t considerAlif Laam Meem is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is aletter, and Meem is a letter.”2.Pray more:Every Muslim has to pray more to be considered a prayerfor 1000 Months and get this great reward.Because we aren’t aware of the specific night of Laylat alQadr, we intensify our worship in the odd nights of the lastthird of Ramadan.Most men used to I’tikaf in the Mosque to pray and recitethe Quran.
3.supplication:
Laylat al Qadr is the best time to ask forgiveness of Allah.The best supplication at this night is “Allahumma innakaafuwwun karim tuhibbul afwa fa’fu anni”This Duaa means that you ask for Allah’s forgiveness afterglorifying and praising him.Everyone needs this supplication, and our only goal of thislife is Allah’s forgiveness and satisfaction.4.Pay the poor:Paying the poor at this night will maximize your reward.It is important to say that not only the previous good deedsthat can be done, but there are many other good deeds,and each one of them will be maximized if done on Laylatal Qadr.
