When we were newborn babies, we had found our parents from our first look at life. Our parents took care of us when we were fragile gifts till we grew up, and flourished. No words can describe what they did for us, and no words can describe their suffering. By nature, we love our parents so much without knowing what they have done for us. Before talking about Hadith about parents, we have to know how Islam emphasizes our parents’ rights and respects them.

What are the rights of our parents in Islam?

On our tour about parents’ rights we will mention some of these important rights then know more about Hadith about parents.   1. We must obey our parents as long as their obedience isn’t against Allah’s orders. The confirmation of this is the words of Allah Almighty in His great book when He has said:

This great verse emphasis on obedience to our parents, and disobedience is only allowed when they want Polytheism in Allah. 2. On our way to Hadith about parents, we should say that we are obliged to respect our parents, and talk to them with gentle voice and kind words. Allah (SWT) said in His great book:

The verse in English:

“[He has enjoined] kindness to parents. Should any of them or both reach old age at your side, do not say to them, ‘Fie!’ And do not chide them, but speak to them noble words” (17:23); “And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy” (17:24). 3. We must treat them well, and satisfy them with their needs. 4. Before moving to the next point we have to say that one of the best deeds in Eidul Adha is doing good to parents. 5. All of us have to be thankful to our parents, pray for them, and ask Allah to have Mercy on them in this World, and in the Hereafter.

The meaning of this Verse is: Give thanks to Me and to your parents.   Hadith about parents: Now it’s time to take an example on Hadith about parents: The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

The translation of the Hadith is: This is one of the greatest examples about Hadith about parents that must be learnt.

Imam as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) has said: “The best deeds are: Salat in its stipulated hour, goodness towards parents and Jihad in the way of Allah.” Simple explanation of this Hadith is: The pious Muslim is always looking to please Allah, and seek His love.

For this reason Ibn Msaoud (may Allah be pleased with Him) asked the Prophet (SAW) “Which worships does Allah like the most?” the Prophet answered him “Salat in its stipulated hours, righteousness to parents, and Jihad for the sake of Allah.” These are the best three worships to Allah. All Muslims have to perform these acts of worship to the fullest without default.
