Hadith on charity

Being a Muslim and interested in Muslims’ conditions, you know that charity is one of the basic rules in Islam. There are many sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that talks about CHARITY in Islam (Hadith on charity). Islam as a religion is not limited to reciting the Holy Quran, and praying _though it is important acts of worship_ but there are other important acts of worship such as charity. To know the importance of charity in Islam, we have to learn Hadith on charity. We have to say that there are different categories of charity in Islam, and the most important are: ● Zakaat (it is the obliged type of charity). ● Sadaqah (it is a voluntary one).  

There are many good deeds in Islam:

Helping the poor, needy, and Orphans are some of the good deeds that can be done In Islam. Charity has a very great reward that Allah Almighty has promised. Before talking about Hadith on charity, it is important to realize the importance of good love for others as the Prophet (SAW) has advised us.

عن أنس بن مالك رضي االله عنه خادم رسول االله صلى االله علیه وسلم أن النبي

صلى االله علیه وسلم قال : ( لا یؤمن أحدكم حتى یحب لأخیه ما یحب لنفسه )،

رواه البخاري ومسلم .

 

The translation of this Hadith is:

  “You will not believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.”  

The importance of charity in Islam:

  Giving charity has a big role in benefiting Islam, and it is also a helping hand to uplift the Islamic community. We will know more about Hadith on charity, but first we should take a tour around the benefits of charity. It is very important to say that Zakaat, and Sadaqah are examples of charity in Islam. 1. It makes our soul, and money clean: Giving charity is one of the best good deeds in Islam; as it purifies our wealth, and it makes us love good for others. 2. Gain Allah’s satisfaction: When you help others, you will gain God’s approval, and your Faith in Him is strengthened. 3. Allah forgives us: Our sins will be rewarded with good deeds as Allah Almighty has promised us in His great book when He said:

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَٰلِحًا فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ حَسَنَٰتٍۢ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

  This great verse tells us that if one does a good deed, Allah (SWT) will replace his bad deeds with many good deeds. 4. Allah (SWT) will spend on us: Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Allah said: spend in charity, O son of Adam, and I will spend on you.” This great Hadith on charity its words are few, but have many and deep meanings.  

Hadith on charity:

“تبسمك في وجه أخیك صدقة، وأمرك بالمعروف ونهیك عن المنكر صدقة،

وإرشادك الرجل في أرض الضلال لك صدقة، وبصرك للرجل الردئ لك صدقة،

وإماطتك الحجر والشوك والعظم عن الطریق لك صدقة، وإفراغك من دلوك في دلو

أخیك لك صدقة” (رواه الترمذي).

This one of many Ahadith that describes the importance of charity in Islam.

Simple explanation of the Hadith:

The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in this Hadith says that one of the good deeds that God pleases is your smile to your brothers face. Also promotion of Virtue, and prevention of vice are considered Sadaqah.

If you guide a lost man to the right path, also one type of Sadaqah. And finally, Removing harm from off the road, and helping other people with anything they need are great examples of charity. It is important to say that good deeds are many and unlimited. And if you want to do any good deed, you will find it so easy.

What should you do before doing charity?

After learning an example about Hadith on charity, it’s time to know your duty before doing good. One of the most important things that must be known about charity is (invisibility).
