Tajweed definition:
“Tajweed” is an Arabic word that means “improvement”,and “making the thing better”.We can say that “Tajweed” is derived from the Arabic word“Jawdah” that means “Quality” in English.In other words, it means to improve your Quran recitationby applying the rules of reading so the reading is as thebeloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recited.What is the cause of its appearance?In the past, it wasn’t known as a science, but it was naturalfor people to recite the Quran with Tajweed.But when Islam started to spread, there were mistakes inthe Quran recitation.So it appeared for this reason.

● Reciting the Holy Quran is the way to Jannah.● Each letter of the Quran has a reward from Allah, andmultiplied by ten.The Messenger of Allah Muhammad (SAW) asked us torecite the Quran, and not consider Alif Laam Meen as aletter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is aletter.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “the best of you are theones who learn the Quran, and teach it to others.”(Sahih Al Bukhari).
Rules of Noon, and Meem mushaddad:
Ghunnah will appear when we find Noon or MeemMushadad.For example:َّ (أن)Rules of Noon sakinah, and Tanween:Noon sakinah means Noon letter with Sukoon above it.Tanween is a symbol not a letter, and it is not written.There are 4 rules of Noon Sakinah, and Tanween:1.Izhar:The first rule of Tajweed is Izhar.In which the letter is pronounced clearly.There are 6 letters for Izhar that are:ع، غ، ء، ح، خ، هIf Noon sakinah and Tanween is followed by one of theseletters, they have to be pronounced clearly.Example:(أنعمت)2.Idgham:It has 2 subtypes, Idgham with Ghunnah, and Idghamwithout Ghunnah.Idgham means to skip the letter.● Idghaam with Ghunnah:.(ي، ن، م، و) letters 4 has ItIf we find one of these letters following Noon sakinah orTanween, we have to skip them..من یعمل ,example For● Idghaam without Ghunnah:Its letters are (ر، ل.(If noon sakinah, or Tanween is followed by one of theseletters, we have to skip them, and recite the following letterwithout Ghunnah.It is important to say that “Ghunnah” is a sound that comesfrom the nasal cavity.3.Iqlab:It has only one letter (ب.(Iqlab means to convert.If we find Noon sakinah or Tanween followed by this letter,we have to convert it into Meem.For example, بعد من that is recited “memba’d”.4.Ikhfa’:It is to hide the letter, and it has the letters other thanIzhar, Iqlab, and Idgham.If we find one of these letters follows Noon sakinah orTanween, it is obliged to hide them.There are also rules for Meem sakinah.So, learning Tajweed is an important way to recite theQuran correctly, and also to get the full reward from Allah.
