Surah Nasr and Its lessons
Surah Nasr is one of the great Surah of the Holy Quran.
As we know that the Holy Quran contains 114 Surah, and
Surah Nasr is the 110th one of them.
It was revealed in Madinah, after Surah At Tawbah
revelation, but its order in the Holy Quran is after Surah Al
Kafiroon.
This Surah consists of 3 verses, and 17 words.
The name of Surah Nasr:
“Nasr” is an Arabic word which means “victory”.
It is also called Surah “Tawde’” as it indicates approaching
the death of Muhammad (SAW).
Surah Nasr transliteration:
1. Edha ga’a nasrullahi wal fath.
2. Wara’ita annasa ydkholoona fedenillahi afwaga.
3. Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wastaghfirhu innahu kana
tawaba.
Surah Nasr translation _ Sahih international:
1.When the victory of Allah comes.
2.And you see people enter the religion of Allah in
regiments.
3.So, praise Allah and ask for His forgiveness, as He
forgives His servants.
Time of its revelation:
There are 2 opinions concerning this:
1. The first one is after the conquest of Mecca, then
Muhammad (SAW) lived seventy days after this, and
died in the 10th year of Hijrah in the Month Rabia’ Al
Awwal.
2. The second opinion shows that this Surah was
revealed before the conquest of Mecca when the
beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) promised to
open Mecca and conquers the people of Mecca.
Simple explanation of Surah Nasr:
1.When the victory of Allah comes.
There will be a promise from Allah which is the
conquest of Mecca by his Messenger, victory over the
polytheists, and the spread of Islam.
2.And you see people enter the religion of Allah in
regiments.
The phrase “people enter in the religion of Allah in
crowd” confirms the spread of Islam, who will become
the family of our Prophet and His supporters after
being His enemies.
3.So, praise Allah and ask for His forgiveness, as He
forgives His servants.
In this verse Allah asked His Messenger muhammad
(SAW) to praise Him which means death approaching
of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), in order to end his life
with good deeds.
For this reason, our beloved Prophet Muhammad
(SAW) used to recite the Quran, and say “Sobhanaka
Allahumma wa bihamdika, Allahummaighfir li.”
It is important to say that Allah is the only one who
can give victory, so all thanks and praise have to be
raised for Him.
So, the greatness of Surah Nasr comes from the good
news to the Messenger of Him (Muhammad SAW) to
open Mecca, and completion of the message.
Lessons from Surah Nasr:
1.every Muslim has to thank Allah and praise him.
2. Praying, Istighfar.
3.the only accepted religion by Allah Almighty is Islam as
He said in His great book (the Holy Quran):
( إن الدين عند الله الإسلام )
4. The imitated faith is a true one and no one can doubt in this.
